We kept seeing the same problem play out across US companies — especially in the South. Great businesses, growing fast, but completely stuck when it came to accounting hires. Not because they didn't want to pay well. Not because their culture was bad. The talent simply wasn't there.

The accounting talent shortage in the US is real and accelerating. With 2.0% unemployment for accountants and 75% of CPAs retiring within 15 years, the math just doesn't work for most companies trying to build a domestic accounting team. The good people are already employed. The rest want $120K for a role that generates $80K of value.

Meanwhile, we'd seen what was possible in El Salvador and the Philippines. World-class accountants, US GAAP trained, fluent in English, working in your timezone — for a fraction of the cost of a US hire. The talent is extraordinary. It just needed a better bridge to US companies.

So we built WorkForce On Deck. Not as a job board. Not as a recruiter. As a talent partner that recruits, vets, employs, and supports elite accounting professionals — so US companies can stop fighting over a shrinking local talent pool and start building the teams they actually need.

We're based in Birmingham, Alabama. We have operations in San Salvador and Manila. And we're building something we genuinely believe in — because we've watched too many good businesses struggle with a problem that has a clear solution.
